Justine Namere and Nsubuga Kennedy Hamza
Special senior presidential advisor on greater Masaka region affairs and CEO of Tmtvuganda, Justine Nameere said I do to her soulmate Nsubuga Hamza on 30th January at Masjid Salafu mosque. Despite the banter they've been getting off social media about their relationship, the couple looked elegant in all white outfits elevated by the amazing smiles as they celebrated how far they have come and where they are headed in the presence of close family and friends. Different political members were also in attendance, like the 3rd Deputy Prime Minister, Rt.Hon. Rukia Nakadama who represented the President honoring the couple with a gift of 10 cows. The lovely couple had previously had a Kwanjula in mid-January with Justine posting their picture on social media captioning, "Thank you for honoring me and for honoring my parents my darling husband. You are the love of my life. I love you my soulmate, my handsome king, my papito...".

Geoffrey Lutaya and Iryn Namatovu
10 years of a blissful journey of love and music. In February, popular artists Iryn Namatovu and Geoffrey Lutaya who is also a member of Parliament for Kakuto constituency renewed their wedding vows to each other at One Love Beach Busaabala. The couple who have been together for 10 years point out that trusting God has sustained their marriage. Namatovu introduced Lutaya to her parents in Gayaza on 9th April 2010 and the two later wedded in January 2014 at St John's Church Kijabweemi. In a way to mark their 10 years love journey, the singers professed their love to each other in a song they titled Ndi ready as they renewed their vows.
Charles Bbaale Mayiga and Sonia Elizabeth Nnaabagereka
Son of Buganda prime minister Charles Bbaale wedded lover Sonia Elizabeth on 10th February at St. Mary's Cathedral Rubaga presided over by Bishop Serverus Jjumba. The reception was held at Kampala serena Hotel where the celebration continued in the presence of various guests from friends, relatives and notable figures from the Buganda Kingdom including Nnaabagereka Sylvia Nagginda, Nnaalinnya Dorothy, Prince Kintu Wassajja as well as from the central government such as the Speaker of parliament Rt. Hon. Anita Among, chief Owiny Dollo among others.
VJ Junior and Patience Matovu
Popular film translator known for his talent and passion for bringing foreign films to Ugandan audiences, VJ Junior born Marysmarts Matovu Junior was on 8th March introduced by Patience Matovu to her parents in a beautiful introduction ceremony. VJ Junior was overwhelmed with love and joy at his ceremony that he shed tears of joy. The two have been together for a long time and share 3 children.
Phoebe Kwikiriza and Juma Nzora
Bukedde TV presenter and renowned tik toker Phoebe Kwikiriza widely known as Phoebe K got hitched on Saturday May 11th to partner Mr Nzora at the Bible revelation church in Makerere Kikoni and hosted their guests to a beautiful dinner at Unik hotel, Kyaliwajala. The couple’s wedding trended on Tiktok with many wishing them the very best in their marriage. Phoebe had previously introduced her partner to her parents in a colorful introduction ceremony on April 27th.
Chairman Nyanzi and Majorine.
On Friday 26th April, Chairman Nyanzi and long term lover Majorine Katumba were joined in holy matrimony at Rubaga Cathedral Church where invited guests gathered to witness as the two lovers united to become one. After the colorful ceremony, the couple hosted their guests at Freedom City Hall along Entebbe road in a spectacular celebration of love and Ugandan culture, with stunning outfits, traditional dances, and live performances from top Ugandan artists like Spice Diana, Nina Roz, Bobiwine. The event was attended by numerous celebrities, business moguls, and political figures as well as the Prince of Buganda, David Kintu Wassajja.
The couple first marked the occasion with a vibrant traditional introduction ceremony (Kwanjula), where Majorine's family formally welcomed Chairman Nyanzi as her husband-to-be. However, there was no honeymoon for the couple to relax from the pressures of organizing the ceremony as Chairman Nyanzi noted that they chose to cancel it because as the head of mobilization in his political party, he is too busy and has a lot of tasks to accomplish. The couple is blessed with 11 children in the 23 years they have been living together.
Daville Mutabazi and Briven Daven
‘I married my best friend at our dream wedding destination,” Daville captioned his Instagram wedding picture post. In a beautiful beach wedding setting, popular city photographer Daville Mutabazi and Briven Daven exchanged vows at Luxmarijani in Zanzibar on June 4th. The sand and ocean backdrop provided a serene romantic atmosphere for the special day with the couple’s choice of attire with the groom in a cream suit and the bride’s off shoulder mermaid gown adding charm and elegance.
Aaronaire and Brina Slimbae
Established videographer Aaronaire On Set real names Aaron Mutumba and video vixen and tiktoker Brinah Slimbae real names Brenda Alinda held a colorful customary ceremony known as Kukyala on 1st September. The function was attended by only close friends and relatives, and the general public got to know about it after pictures and videos from the ceremony were released online. Aaronaire is the face behind the magic in most Ugandan hit song videos like Dawa by Elijah Kitaka, Omezze by Rema ft B2C among others.
Olisha M and Mutassim Nzirorera
Singer Olivia Namubiru stage name Olisha M introduced her boyfriend to her parents in Masaka on 29th June in a lavish ceremony that left people talking. Fellow artists like Chosen Becky, Mesach Ssemakula, Annet Nandujja were in attendance. Among the various gifts from her husband was a Toyota Harrier to Olisha and a Toyota Noah to her parents.
On 5th June the lovebirds had held a Kukyala.
Kenzo and Phiona Nyamutoro
After years of a successful music career, international recognition, and a beautiful family, Eddy Kenzo, one of Uganda's most beloved musicians, had a much-anticipated wedding in 2024. Fans had been eagerly awaiting the moment he would settle down with his longtime partner, and Kenzo finally made that dream a reality this year.
In a private ceremony in Buziga, a Kampala suburb on 29th June, singer Eddy Kenzo was introduced by his lover, Phiona Nyamutoro who is the state minister for Energy and Mineral Development to her parents. Nyamutoro who hails from Nebbi district took to social media to share photos from the ceremony expressing her love and gratitude. “To much more laughter, unbounded joy and unprecedented love,” she captioned. The couple’s relationship was made public earlier in the year when the singer revealed that they had a child together and they have since gone on to make many public appearances together.
Kasuku and Angella
Media personality Isaac Katende, popularly known as Kasuku was officially introduced to his longtime girlfriend, Angela’s parents in a Kukyala on 30th November. The former Dembe FM and ex Spark TV presenter in company of his family and close friends was hosted at the bride’s parents’ home in Nakaseke District. After photos from the function were released online, there was buzz with many joking about why the media personality who always talks about big bummed women settled for the opposite, but then I guess the heart wants what it wants.
Zambali Bulasio Mukasa and Caisy
Next Media news anchor, Zambali Bulasio Mukasa in a joyous celebration was introduced by his girlfriend to her parents on November 10th. While details about the event remain scarce, it was reportedly a private affair attended by a select group of close friends and family members.
Mami Deb and Micheal Cleave
On Sunday 10th November, reality TV star and businesswoman Mami Deb real names Deborah Nantongo walked down the aisle with Micheal Cleave in a beautiful ceremony in the Maldives at the dreamy shores of Sheraton Full Moon Resort. It was a showbiz affair as the couple flew their family and friend from Uganda through Dubai to the Maldives. Micheal proposed to the Kampala Crème star on her birthday in 2023 in the Maldives and was introduced to her parents in Masulita on 30th May in an exquisite kwanjula.
Amito Mitra and Nadler
Ugandan youtuber, Amito Mitra on 25th October in an exquisite function introduced her boyfriend to her family and friends at Sheraton Hotel. In her speech, Amito thanked her in laws for coming out in big numbers all the way from Europe to honor her and her parents. The function caused a bit of buzz on social media especially on Tiktok with different people voicing their thoughts which the bride was quick to counter.
Musiri David and Nabacwa Milcah
Makindye West MP Hopeful Musiri David was introduced by longtime lover Milcah Nabacwa in a lovely celebration. David looked dapper in a white kanzu plus a stripped blue blazer while Milcah looked beautiful in a cream gomesi with golden embelishments.

Irene Ntale
Singer, songwriter and guitarist, Irene Ntale was engaged at Sipi Falls by partner Vincent Kalibbala in a video that surfaced online on 28th November. The news was received with mixed reactions on different social media platforms as some congratulated her while others wondered what now happens to public admirer Lil Pazo. The former Swangz Avenue singer took to social media to celebrate her engagement and also gush over her ring, man and goodness of God captioning, ‘Your girl is engaged’.
And as of the start of this year, the star has officially embarked on her journey to marital bliss, introducing her fiancé Vincent Kalibbala to her parents officially in a lavish ‘Kukyala’. Held on Friday January 3, 2025, at her parents’ home, the event was a masterclass in blending timeless tradition with contemporary flair. The kukyala, a cherished prelude to the traditional wedding in Buganda culture, marked the beginning of a series of events leading to the couple’s wedding which we are looking forward to.

Founder and manager of Ghetto Kids Triplets proposed to girlfriend, Gini Malaika on 7th December and she said yes. The news of their engagement was received warmly on social media with friends and fans wishing them the very best. The engagement was in a cozy picturesque setting by the lake shores and we definitely can’t wait for the big day.
