The pandemic may have slowed us down, but all across the globe, couples realized that this cannot be what stops their love. Come 2021 several public figures that held out in 2020 made it official. From actor Nicholas Cage who married his fifth wife to supermodel Paris Hilton; here is the best of the weddings from 2021, a sequel to Your 2021 Ugandan celebrity weddings.

1. Jennifer Wayne and Austin Moody

The Runaway June singer ushered us into the new year in style when she married Austin Moody on January 9 at a “very small” beach wedding ceremony in Santa Rosa , Florida.

2. Victoria Wakile and Teddy Kosmidis

The daughter of Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Kathy Wakile married her longtime love on Valentine eve after postponing their wedding due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “Mr. and Mrs. Teddy Kosmidis,” was her caption on Instagram of a stunning photo from the ceremony.

3. Nicolas Cage and Riko Shibata

Cage and Shibata secretly tied the knot in Las Vegas in February. The following month, the National Treasure star told Us on March 6, "It's true, and we are very happy."

4. Yetunde Barnabas and Peter Olayinka

Nigerian model, beauty queen, actress and film producer, Yetunde Barnabas on 26th March got married to Peter Olayinka Oladeji, a Nigerian professional footballer and Slavia Prague forward in the Fortuna Liga.

5. Harrysong and Alexe Peres

Harrison Tare Okiri, better known by his stage name Harrysong, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and instrumentalist who rose to fame when his tribute song to Nelson Mandela won the "Most Downloaded Callertune Award" at The Headies 2013. He married on 27th March.

6. Jed Duggar and Katey Nakatsu

The Counting On star married Nakatsu on April 4 which he announced via Instagram. "For a long time, I have prayed for my future spouse, not knowing who that person would be. God answered my prayers far beyond what I could have ever imagined in Katey." Their wedding photo was captioned "We have enjoyed quietly developing our relationship over the past year and every moment together has been amazing!"

7. Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez

Pop star Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez secretly tied the knot at the singer’s Montecito “Seven rings”, Calif. home on May 15th. About 20 people celebrated with the couple at this intimate ceremony.

8. Boris Johnson and Carrie Symonds

The UK prime minister married his long-term fiancée in a splendid wedding on 29th May. It was a private ceremony given restrictions presented by the pandemic.

9. Don Cheadle and Bridgid Coulter

During a June appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, guest host Wanda Sykes confirmed Cheadle had tied the knot with his longtime partner during the coronavirus pandemic. The comedian joked that she didn't know they weren't already married. In response, the Oscar nominee remarked, "Yeah, I mean, that's understandable, given that we've been together 28 years before we got married."

10. Paola Fendi and Aram Ahmed

Fashion heir, Paola Fendi tied the knot with Aram Ahmed in late June at a 13th-century cathedral in Ibiza. Fendi, an associate vice-president of post-war & contemporary art at Christie’s, and Ahmed later hosted a lavish black-tie reception at luxury hotel Atzaró Agroturismo.

11. Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton

In perhaps the most anticipated celebrity wedding of the year “The Voice” lovebirds Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton got married on July 3 at Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch. About 40 guests attended the intimate wedding, including their “Voice” pal Carson Daly as the officiant.

12. Mitch Trubisky and Hillary Gallagher

Buffalo Bills quarterback Mitch Trubisky married longtime girlfriend Hillary Gallagher on July 3 at the Ritz-Carlton in Cleveland, seven months after announcing their engagement. The two first linked up in 2019.

13. Bobby Bones and Caitlin Parker

Radio host Bobby Bones and Caitlin Parker got married in an intimate wedding in Nashville in July.

Bobby Bones is an American radio and television personality, best known for hosting the nationally syndicated The Bobby Bones Show.

14. Jenna Ushkowitz and David Stanley

“Glee” star Jenna Ushkowitz married her longtime love David Stanley on July 24. Vows were exchanged in Los Angeles before close family and friends.

15. Lady Kitty Spencer and Michael Lewis

Another July 24 wedding attraction was Princess Diana’s niece Lady Kitty Spencer’s wedding to fashion billionaire Michael Lewis who is 30 years her senior, at the Villa Aldobrandini in Rome.

16. Issa Rae and Louis Diame

“Insecure” star Issa Rae tied the knot with Louis Diame in late July in a private ceremony in the South of France. Rae shared photos from her wedding day with fans on Instagram wearing one of her two custom Vera Wang wedding dresses.

17. Alfred Molina and Jennifer Lee

“Spider-Man” star Alfred Molina and “Frozen” director Jennifer Lee tied the knot in early August in a romantic outdoor ceremony officiated by their “Frozen 2” co-worker Jonathan Groff.

18. Lily Collins and Charlie McDowell

Lily Collins and director Charlie McDowell tied the knot on Sept. 4 in Colorado. The “Emily in Paris” star, who looked radiant in a Ralph Lauren long-sleeved gown, described the ceremony as “magical.”

Collins is daughter to rock legend Phil Collins while McDowell is son of Malcolm McDowell and Mary Steenburgen.

19. Jasmine Tookes and Juan David Borrero

And the award for most over-the-top goes to... Jasmine Tookes and Juan David Borrero! The model and Snapchat exec didn’t hold back even a bit when celebrating their official union after dating for five years. They got married on Sept 4th. The bride walked down the aisle in a hand-embellished floral lace Zuhair Murad gown with long sleeves and a high collar.

20. Jesse McCartney and Katie Peterson

“Beautiful Soul” singer Jesse McCartney married fiancée Katie Peterson in October at the Santa Lucia Preserve in California.

21. Christina Ricci and Mark Hampton

Two months after announcing the impending arrival of their baby together, the Casper actress and the hairstylist tied the knot. They announced the news with a selfie via Instagram on October 9. “Mr. and Mrs.,” Ricci captioned the snap.

The daughter of Bill and Melinda Gates tied the knot with the equestrian in an upstate New York ceremony on October 16.

26. Meadow Walker and Louis Thornton Allan

Meadow Walker, daughter to fallen ‘Fast and Furious’ star, Paul Walker walked down tha aisle on 23rd October to her fiancé actor Louis Thornton Allan. The ceremony held in the Dominican Republic was attended by the Fast and Furious crew led by Vin Diesel who walked her down the aisle.

27. Princess Mako

Japanese princess Mako married ‘a commoner’ at a wedding in October 26th 2021.

28. Raven Goodwin and Wiley Battle

‘Being Mary Jane’ star, Raven Goodwin married her long term boyfriend Wiley Battle a financial executive in a very low-key but intimate ceremony on the island of Santorini, Greece.

29. Malala Yousafzai and Asser Malik

On November 10, the world’s youngest Nobel Prize laureate (the second Pakistani) got married. Malala is a Pakistani female education activist known for her book, ‘I am Malala’.

30. Ben Higgins and Jessica Clarke

Ben Higgins is a bachelor no more! On November 13, the Bachelor star married fiancée Jessica Clarke in Nashville.

31. Paris Hilton and Carter Reum

At a lavish party in November, super-model Paris Hilton and Carter Reum tied the knot at her late grandfather Barron’s extravagant Bel-Air estate.

32. Ty Pennington and Kellee Merrell

The Trading Spaces alum, who previously proposed to Merrell in July, tied the knot with his love four months later. Pennington shared wedding photos of the pair via Instagram on November 28, captioning the snaps, “We did it 💐💍.”

Finally, allow us crown the year 2021 with our wedding prankster of the year award and it goes to the one and only Lil Wayne and his pretty girlfriend Denise Bidot who left us guessing since April whether they got married or they were simply announcing getting back together.
