Hungry guests
It was late last year where for sure I trended the path that I had less hopes of returning…..what my eyes witnessed that day was unbearable because my brains also failed to stomach what an idea of a wedding that was being exhibited…hmm how do I start even to story tell the backbone of my scattered thoughts…?
You know all my life I have cherished the idea of friendship which has enabled me so many times to escape the various snares of life. So on one of these supposedly good days, a friend of mine invites me on her wedding and it being a day that will go down her books of history, I choose to turn up all hyped up and excited as one would be for the one they hold so dear. Literally I showed up at my best all glowing for luck of a better word. Everything moved on so smoothly as intended not until the Master of the Ceremony said that it was time for eating as most people were yawning so endlessly. Even before the forks and plates could commence with their argument, the service provider had brought little food, the bride and the groom had to share a piece of chicken that they were able to buy from a nearby barbecue man as the rest of us just ate food with drops of soup on our plates. All over sudden mamas of all kind started arising from the congregation. We were all astonished at what was happening but of course people couldn’t speak beyond whispers cause no one wanted to be dismissed before cake time but also that could also unveil their levels of gluttony…at least no one would love to leave such a function with such News! Hahaha not in the world where people who talk like machines live! So we ate in gloom but there’s nothing that could be done. We heard speeches from different people that had come to the celebration. Each of them speaking only sweetness about the newly wedded. All of that was done and the time came for cutting the cake, everyone was waiting to avenge their hunger on the cake but no sooner has the cake been uncovered than herd of pigs invaded the area, they knocked the cake down as Saliva kept on accumulating in everyone’s mouth. People started talking small, “what a big loss this wedding is!” while others were complaining, “why did I burn my transport and the money I contributed for this wedding now lies in ruins…..” I was sweeping my eyes across the building and they fell on the bride who was all buried in tears and being comforted by his husband among others…..people started leaving one by one with their heads looking down….it’s one of those days that can never leave my medulla oblongata. But life teaches us to be prepared for anything and also never to put our hopes so high so as to reduce on the disappointment.
